Incident update on April 9

We wish to provide an update regarding the technical incident that VNG Cloud encountered on the afternoon of 09/04, concerning a hardware issue at node "osd.9" within the Ceph storage cluster "Pub-C05". This incident impacted the vServer hosting service for a group of VNG Cloud customers.

 

Our dedicated team of engineers at VNG Cloud promptly addressed and restored the "Pub-C05" service to normal operation by mid-afternoon on the same day. However, due to data corruption during the incident, some client servers may require additional time for restoration and meticulous examination to ensure the integrity of your servers.

 

We extend our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused and assure you of our relentless commitment to protecting your benefits. Throughout the recovery process and restoration of the "Pub-C05" system to a stable state, VNG Cloud remains available 24/7 to receive and address any support requests or inquiries from customers via following channels: 

 

 

At VNG Cloud, we are currently implementing optimal recovery measures to expedite the process and ensure the stable operation of the system, in line with the quality commitments we have made. Following this incident, we will conduct a comprehensive review and explore additional measures to enhance the system's self-recovery capabilities, aiming to minimize downtime in the event of similar incidents in the future.
